 Who is today's most absurd role model? |
The term role model was introduced by Robert K. Merton. Merton says that individuals compare themselves with "reference groups" full of people who occupy the social role to which the individual aspires. The term has passed into general use to mean any "person who serves as an example of a positive behavior".

I believe the entertainment industry has created many "artificial role model's" through the proliferation of Reality TV shows and shows such as "The Fabulous Life of...", "MTV Cribs", and others. The content being delivered is fine for entertainment purposes, but I believe that it is creating a culture of followers in this country when we are in desperate need of leaders. |
| What cause do you believe in enough to take action? |
I believe that everyone has something to offer (some more than others), which can be used to do good or evil.
First, identify your hidden equities.
Second, exercise them for good to take action in areas, which compliment your abilities and maximize your effectiveness.
For myself, I have realized that I can impact many people from all walks of life and from all over the world by developing technology solutions for them to connect with others to maximize their effectiveness. |
